     IPF DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE REPORT DRUG TEST RESULTS

WORLD MASTERS BENCH PRESS CHAMPIONSHIPS,HAMM, LUXEMBOURG - APRIL, 2001

According to the report from the IOC accredited Laboratory in Chatenay-Malabry / France from 22nd. May 2001 the doping result of Seppo Mikkola from Finland was positive. The Testosterone/Epitestosterone-quotient exceeded the maximum permissible limit of 6 T/ET: 22,3).

The Supervisory Group of the Finnish Antidoping Committee decided that the case is doping. The athlete didn't present a statement.

Seppo Mikkola will be suspended for two years from the 15th. April 200l until the 14. April 2003 and forfeits his first place in the 110kg Class of the Masters two category in these World Championships

According to the report from the IOC accredited Laboratory in Chatenay-Malabry / France from 18. May 2001 the doping result of Mr. Istvan Toth of Hungary was positive and contained Ephedrine >10 ug/ml. The athlete didn't present a statement.

Estvan Toth will be suspended for six months from the 13th. April 2001 until the 12. October 2001and forfeits his first place in the 60kg class of the Masters One category in these World Championships.


WOMENS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, FRYDEK-MISTEK, CZECH REPUBLIC - MAY 2001

According to the report from the IOC accredited Laboratory in Prague I Czech Republic from 29th. June 2001, the doping result of Mrs. Elena Fomina from Russia was positive and contained Mesterolone. The athlete didn't present a statement.

Elena Fomina will be suspended for two years and forfeits her first place in the 60kg class at this World Championship.


WORLD GAMES,AKITA,JAPAN - AUGUST,2001

According to the report from the IWGA Medical Committee from 11. September 2001 the doping result of Volodymir Ivanenko from the Ukraine was positive and contained 3'-Hydroxystanozolol (Stanozolol metabolite). The athlete didn't present a statement.

Volodymir Ivanenko from Ukraine will be suspended for two years from the 20th. August 2001 and ends on the 19th. August 2003. He did not place in the Heavyweight Division in these World Games

Natalia Payusova from Russia participated in the World Games held in Akita Japan on 20. August 2001.

At this World Games an anti-doping sample was taken from Natalia Payusova. In her sample Orciprenalin was found. Orciprenalin is a stimulant and a Beta2-Agonist.

The Disciplinary Committee has examined this case very carefully and decides:
1.) Natalia Payusova is declared negative.

2.) In future Natalia Paynsova must take only allowed substances to prevent and/or treat her asthma. These substances are currently Salbutamol, Salmeterol, Terbutaline or Formoterol permitted by inhaler (According IOC Anti-Doping Code "List of prohibited substances and-prohibited methods").

Natalia Payusova has declared at the competition, that she takes Orciprenalin.

The IWGA Medical Committee did not inform her, that this is a forbidden substance and she is not allowed to participate in the World Games.

Furthermore the IWGA Medical Committee did not react to the re-quests of the DC to get more information about this case.

So the DC gives her the benefit of doubt.


WPO CHAMPIONSHIPS, ORLANDO, USA 11/12 AUGUST 2001

The lifters Ingvar Ingvarsson from Iceland and Jeff Douglas from the USA will be warned because of violation of the IPF-Constitution 909.16 b) on the occasion of participation in the WPO Championship held on 11th and 12th August 2001 in Orlando / USA

According to the competition results presented by the IPF-Executive the lifters Ingvar Ingvarsson and Jeff Douglas participated in the WPO Championship on 11.-I 2. August 2001 versus Ed Coan, who is life-suspended by the IPF, and against national suspended Finnish lifters. The lifters didn't present a statement.

This is a violation of IPF-Constitution 909.16 b). According to IPF-Constitution 909.16 b) the participation in a competition is absolutely not allowed, if any lifter suspended by the IPF or suspended by national federations participates in such a competition.

In a case like this it is insignificant, that he competes against national suspended lifters, because he does not have the possibility to investigate, if national suspended lifters are participating.

But it is generally known, that Ed Coan is life suspended by the IPF.

Therefore in this first offence a warning is corresponding to the previous jurisdiction of the Disciplinary Committee.


WORLD MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS,MOOSE JAW, CANADA - OCTOBER,2001

According to the report from the UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory in Los Angeles from the 28th. November 2001 the doping result of Gerard McNamara from Ireland was positive and contained pseudoephedrine greater than 25 micrograms per millilitre.

The athlete denies that he had doped himself knowingly. He said that he had taken flu-tablets.

The athlete should have asked the anti-doping officer or a doctor before taking such tablets.

The fact that the tablets are sold over the counter does not mean that they are free from forbidden substances.

The athlete has the full responsibility for the consequences.

Gerard McNamara will be suspended for six months from 20th. October 2001 to 20th April, 2002 and forfeits his first place in the 110kg class in the Masters Two category at these World Masters Champion-ships.


MENS OPEN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS,SOTKAMO, FINLAND - NOVEMBER, 2001

According to the report from the United Laboratories Ltd/Doping Control Laboratory in Helsinki from the 2. December 2001 the doping result of Tomasz Sabady from Poland was positive and contained Nandrolone metabolites. The athlete and respectively the Polish Powerlifting Federation didn't present a statement.

Tomasz Sabady will be suspended for 2 years from 17th. November 2001 until the 16th. November 2003, and forfeits his 8th place in the 110kg class of this World Championships

According to the report from the United Laboratories Ltd./Doping Control Laboratory in Helsinki from the 2nd. December 2001 the doping result of Maleki Majtaba was positive and contained Metenolone metabolites.

Furthermore the sample showed evidence of strychnine, methyiphenidate, nandrolone metabolites, methyltestosterone and stanozolol. The T/E-quotient was greater than 6/1 (42,3) and the concentration of ephedrine over 10 mg/mi (113 mg/mi).

The athlete and respectively the Weightlifting & Powerlifting Federation of Islamic Republic of Iran didn't present a statement.

Maleki Majtaba will be suspended for two years from 18th. November 2001 and ends on the 17th. November 2003. He did not place in the + 125kg class in this World Championships.


WORLD BENCH PRESS CHAMPIONSHIPS, CHRISTCHURCH, NEW ZEALAND - DECEMBER, 2001

According 10 the report from the Australian Sports Drug Testing Laboratory in Sydney from 4th. January 2002 the doping result of Vladislav Fatiyanov from Russia was positive and contained Stanozolol metabolites, Metandienone metabolites and Nandrolone metabolites. The athlete accepted this result.

Vladislav Fatiyanov will be suspended for two years from December 8th, 2001 until December 7th, 2003, and forfeits his third place in the 110kg class at this World Championships
