Banned Substance Alert

Per the U.S. Antidoping Agency Banned Substance list: http://www.usantidoping.org/files/2004WCexpanded.pdf, the diuretic/masking agent drospirenone is banned. It is contained in the contraceptive brand Yasmin. This medication was approved by the FDA in 2001, but made it to market something thereafter. There have not been any drug test failures in USAPL as a result of use of this medication, however, their use is prohibited and will result in discipline which may include suspension. Please consult your physician for alternatives.
