Most Powerlifters have a local meet that is just special to them. It might be where they were first introduced to powerlifting as a spectator or as a competitor but there is usually some meet where they feel like they are home. For me that special meet the USAPL Idaho State/Open Powerlifting Championship & Bill's "Bad Ass" Bench Press Meet held at Fitness Inc. in Pocatello, Idaho. Every November Bill Davis, the Owner of Fitness Inc holds a Powerlifting Meet like no other. It is fun, challenging, well run, has exceptional referees, and often draws participants from around Country. The support by numerous merchants for this meet is amazing and almost each participant came away with a donated prize. Oh, and my favorite, the food. It was a little bit of effort but those last pounds that needed to come off to make weight were put back on ten fold during the meet. There was pizza, big hogi sandwiches, tacos, more pizza, and yes, beer. Sponsors, I love you.
