Land of Opportunity

This past year there have been a number of opportunities added in the USAPL to give our lifters at every level more opportunities to compete and be recognized.

There are proving to be more meets this year available to our lifters than any other year. This includes local, national and international levels. We are very proud that new state chairs have been added to our organization. This enables us to offer local meets in more regions and hopefully grant everyone more opportunities, closer to home. At the national level the American Open is being moved from Philadelphia to California. This will give lifters in our western states another opportunity to try out a national platform. We also, along with the North American Powerlifting Federation (NAPF), are able to offer more meets at the IPF level. These meets are going to be available, not just to our national champions, but many more lifters from the national level. In 2006 alone there will be 4 international meets affiliated with the NAPF for both men and women.

With the reinstatement of our hard-copy newsletter, every current member is now receiving information that was once only available via the internet. The newsletter gives every member an outlet to share experiences and inspirations with our entire membership. The member spotlight section highlights individuals from all levels of the organization. This section gives everyone a chance to get to know lifters they may never of connected with otherwise. Anyone can be featured in the spotlight section by submitting your, or another lifter's, photo and lifting information to any executive committee member.

Please, try to take advantage of these wonderful opportunities. We look forward to hearing your stories and seeing you on more platforms in 2006.
