National Meet Templates

USA Powerlifting will now be offering standard National meet templates to be used by all National meet directors going forward!

Tony Cardella brought up an excellent suggestion at the NGB meeting this year.. to have a standard National Meet template for each nationals, hosted at the same URL so that members will have one URL location to go to each and every year for National meet information. These URLS will be hosted on www.usapowerlifting.com and the URL will follow this format for each National meet, for example: www.usapowerlifting.com/nationals/mens, www.usapowerlifting.com/nationals/bench, etc, etc. (These pages are not yet published, but will notify the membership and meet directors when they are ready for use.)

Each template will have a standard look and feel, with slight changes to tie in to the applicable nationals. National meet directors will send their information to the USAPL webmaster for updating areas such as dates, locations, entry forms, hotel info, nominations and so on. In addition, it will have standard information that applies to each nationals such as qualifying totals, rules, etc. A sample of a similar site was the website developed by Lea Hendrix for the 2006 Men's Nationals (http://www.ipfworlds.com/mensnationals/)

Features:
  • Central location to access National Meet information by hosting on usapowerlifting.com
  • Set URL that will not change year-after-year, making it easier for members locate information (or save to their Favorites)
  • Standard look and feel for easy navigation and location of needed information
  • Useful tool for National meet directors to publish their contest information quickly and easily, no longer need to build websites for their upcoming events
I would like to thank in advance Lea Hendrix for her countless hours, superb web development and design and assistance in this project!
